A little bit about me... My heart is for helping people find meaning, hope and purpose in living. Counselling is a collaborative process and my desire is to empower you to make positive changes, resolve personal and inter-personal conflict and move through difficulties with confidence. A gentle, patient and non-judgemental approach allows clients to quickly feel comfortable and at ease as they engage in counselling. My work within education for 20 years and private practice for the past 5 years has provided me with great insight into the issues and challenges faced by people at all stages of life.
My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is holistic encompassing the emotional, cognitive, social, physical, and spiritual aspects of being human, highlighting these connections and their influence on wellbeing. My practice is informed by a range of well-established therapeutic modalities including; Trauma Informed Practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Play Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Play, Art and Narrative approaches.
