“If there’s one thing that will stop people from achieving their goals, it’s a wall. However, as I see it, without a wall there’s no place to build a door.”
- Craig D. Lounsbrough
A little bit about me... My heart is for helping people explore and find meaning, hope and purpose in the challenges and circumstances they face in everyday life. My gentle, patient and non-judgemental approach allows my clients to quickly feel at ease and comfortable as they engage in counselling. My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is holistic highlighting important connections between mental, emotional, physical and behavioural responses in supporting mental health and general well-being. My work within education for 20 years has provided me with great insight into the issues and challenges faced by children, adolescents and their families. My desire is to support positive growth and development in children and adolescents and see family relationships grow and be strengthened. Counselling is a collaborative process, there is no magic pill! I work with clients to empower them to make positive changes, resolve issues, increase communication and build on personal and family strengths. In counselling and Psychotherapy I use a range of evidence based psychological approaches to therapy including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ACT Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Play Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy, to support clients through the counselling process.
